Instructions for Lease Renewal Process for 2008-2009

Please refer to the “Timeline for Lease Renewals” for important dates and deadlines. If you would like to return to the unit you are currently leasing, please fill out and return the Intent to Renew Form. If you would like to move to another unit within the building, please fill out and return the Intent to Move to Another Room Form. If you would like to secure a parking space for the 2008-2009 academic year, please fill out and return a parking application for 08-09.

The new rates for the 2008-2009 academic year have not yet been determined. Rates are subject to SJSU President Approval.

*Please note: All residents who wish to return for next year must schedule a Health & Safety inspection with the building manager and must satisfactorily meet the requirements before they can renew. Residents’ accounts must also be up-to-date with no outstanding balances before they can renew.

*Leases are renewable for up to 2 years from the beginning application period of the Tenant’s first lease with UHS based upon successful Health and Safety inspection and resident account history, with an option for additional years based on availability.

*If all paperwork is not completed and turned in to UHS by April 4th, the apartment is considered available for prospective residents to lease. Please follow the Timeline for Lease Renewals to ensure that all paperwork is completed on time in order to secure your unit for next year. If you are still deciding if you would like to renew, please follow the process so that you do not miss the deadlines.

*Only a signed lease and initial payment of $150 received by the deadline will reserve the apartment.
