You must check in on your assigned check-in day as stated in your assignment letter and/or listed below, according to your room assignment. If you are participating in Frosh Start you will receive a letter with an earlier arrival date which is stated in your Frosh Start Letter. You will only be allowed to move-in on your designated day.

The check-in process takes place in the lobby of the Suites (Building C). Please remember to bring your SJSU Tower card and/or picture ID as well as your Assignment Letter. You will be given an access card, a key, and other important information. Once check-in is complete, you will be free to move into your room at your leisure.
You must complete the check-in process by Sunday, August 23rd by 10pm. If you are unable to check in by the deadline, please contact University Housing Services at reslifeasst@housing.sjsu.edu or call (408) 795-5621.
We strongly suggest that you bring your own dolly to ensure a smooth and timely move in.
During check-in, you will be able to park in specially designated unloading areas around the buildings with a UHS permit with a 1 hour time limit. Once you have unloaded your vehicle it must be moved to the South (7th St.) Garage. Permits will be available from UHS staff on the day of your move-in. The permit allows you a maximum of 1 hour to unload your vehicle. Please be aware that you risk being ticketed if you park outside of the specially designated unloading areas, without the UHS Permit, or for longer than 1 hour.
If you have applied for a Campus Village parking permit, please be advised that there is currently a waiting list. Until further notice, there are no parking permits available for the Campus Village parking garage.
Residents who have purchased an SJSU Parking Permit through SJSU Parking Services will have their permits mailed to them (if you purchased the permits far enough in advance) or permits may be picked up at the Parking Services office in the 7th Street Garage. Any questions regarding the SJSU Parking Permits can be directed to Parking Services at (408) 924-6556.
Your suite and room includes the following:
Living room furniture (sofa, armchair, coffee table, end table, lamp)
Living room Telephone (common area)
Dining table/4 chairs
Microwave
Trash can & recycle bins
Bedroom furniture (extra-long twin bed, desk, chair, mobile file, wardrobe, dressers)
All furniture and amenities must remain in assigned room and may not be removed.
The following are some of the things you may consider bringing with you. You should contact your roommates to coordinate your packing since you may not need duplicates of some items.
Extra-long twin sheetsLocal telephone service, basic cable TV, and Internet connection are included in your rent. For your telephone and Internet services, you will need Cat3 and Cat5 patchcords to connect your phone and computer to the Gateway. To connect your TV to the cable services, you can visit the Computer Lab (on the 1st Floor) to pick up a Set Top Box and Remote. Any questions can be directed to Spartan Shops at (408) 795-INFO(4636).
Due to the high level of interest in the Suites (Campus Village Building C) and limited number of bed spaces, all students who selected the Suites as their first choice will not automatically be assigned to the Suites.
Those students who selected the Suites as their first choice, but no bed spaces were available at the time of assignment, will be assigned to a space in the classics and automatically placed on a waiting list for the Suites. As additional spaces become available in the Suites, we will move students from the waiting list to the Suites.
Prior to being moved, students on the waiting list will be contacted to confirm that their building preference is still the Suites.
Assignments are made based on the date a student's full application is complete. Waiting list numbers are assigned based on the application completion date as well. However, please note that someone may be high on the waiting list, yet may not be the next assigned due to the gender of the open spaces that are available at that time.
