University Housing Services offers a variety of communities in which a resident can choose to live and participate. Themed Communities bring students together who have similar interests. Programming is designed around student interests and often has a component tied to a SJSU academic department. Additional Special Interest Communities are offered for students who have similar needs and interests, but the academic relation to the university is not as strong programmatically.
Themed Communities change over the years according to needs and desires of our students. Some previous Living Learning Communities include, but are not limited to: Substance Free and Healthy Living, Service Learning Community, Science & Technology Community, Multicultural Living, and Social Justice Community. If you have any ideas or requests for special communities please contact University Housing Services with your requests. These requests must be received by November 1st for the following year.
For the 2008-2009 Academic Year, University Housing Services is pleased to announce the following communities. Follow the link to find out more about the community and how to apply.
